Featured Festival: Dance Valley 2011

General Information:

Imagine hearing “Dance…Dance….Dance….DANCE for Life!”(Dutch Voice) over the loudspeaker!!! That is the mystical energy that fills Dance Valley in Amsterdam. I recall hearing live sets back a few years ago only to find a free loving spirit within the crowd in the background and within the sets that were being performed. Dance Valley is going on it’s 17th year, planting it’s first seed in 1995 as the first big open air dance festival in Amsterdam. Dance Valley, a 1-day festival, sits in the recreation of Velsen Valley (the new name of this festival recreational Spaarnwoude) and looks therefore un-Dutch with numerous existing slopes and valleys. A green spot in the heart of North Holland, which annually serves as a location for people to come together for an open air dance festival, Velsen Valley turns into an amusement park for adults in the first weekend of August. People wait all year long for national and international club DJ’s to come together. This is a festival where your legs can stretch for many miles and where others can sit on a towel on top of the great Dance Valley to take in the lush landscape. Dance Valley 2011 is much more than a sum of different dance styles. It is a magical, musical playground in an enchanting landscape, where the combination of electronic music and provocative entertainment provides a chance to escape life’s commitments as the daily grind fades away. A day at Dance Valley means endless fun in an environment that is synonymous with freedom. In the surreal recreation of Velsen Valley the senses are stimulated and everyone strives for the time of their life and to be as free as they want. This year, on August 6, 2011 in Amsterdam’s Velsen Valley Spaarnwoude, Dance Valley will consist of four musical areas, each with a large number of areas.
