When: Sunday, May 27th, 2012
Why: The pool party is where you go to bask in the Vegas sun and let your hair down, and forget about the glitz and the glamour of Vegas nightlife and just have FUN. If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy set compiled of some of the heaviest hitting songs you’ve never heard, then Sex Panther is your answer. I’ve seen almost every known artist over the past eight or so years, and trust me, there is a reason why I’m ranking this pool party over the likes of Deadmau5′s and Laidback Luke’s. Sex Panther hails from sunny Orange County, and despite their current anonymity when measured against the industries heavy-weights, this is a duo you will not soon forget. Bangers? Check. Ability to read a crowd? Check. Stage-presence? BOOM.

4. Who: Steve Angello
Where: Encore Beach Club
When: Saturday, May 26th, 2012
Why: It’s not officially a Vegas pool party until that “one guy” (you all know who I’m talking about) starts splashing water on his friends, then they start splashing back, and then that dominoes into the whole pool party filling up their empty 20 oz. drink cups with pool water and throwing it at everywhere. There’s only one thing that will make this happen: ENERGY. And since Steve Angello always brings the energy, you can go ahead and shoe him in as well.

3. Who: Armin van Buuren
Where: Tao Beach
When: Monday, May 28th, 2012
Why: I don’t know if you remember Armin‘s 2008 ASOT duel-compilation release on Armada Records, but there is a reason why the first CD was titled “On The Beach.” Though he is known for his heavy-hitting trance and club shows, this is a guy that knows how to drop a set fit for a Vegas pool party. Not to mention he was DJMAGs number one ranked DJ four out of the last five years.

2. Who: Kaskade
Where: Marquee Day Club
When: Sunday, May 27th, 2012
Why: Experience. Experience. Experience. Don’t waste your time hoping one of your favorite new artists will drop a memorable pool party set this Vegas MDW. Instead, go see Kaskade, a DJ who’s resume also boasts a recent residency at Encore Beach Club, has the experience needed to get a Vegas pool party jumping. Even better: Marquee is one of the smaller pools in Vegas and the added intimacy ups the ante, no pun intended.

1. Who: Sebastian Ingrosso
Where: Encore Beach Club
When: Friday, May 25th, 2012
Why: This is where I contradict everything I just said and tell you to go see Sebastian Ingrosso, even though he has very little experience at the Vegas Pool party. There is always an exception, and in this case, Sebastian Ingrosso is exactly that. Heres why: coming off a near unanimous best in show at Aprils, Coachella Music festival, it is scary how much this guy has improved over the last year. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT miss this show. My only advice? Hold on to your britches.
