General InformationThe Love Festival Socal, in its 19th year, is one of the longest running US festivals. 2011 is the first time Love Festival Socal moves south from Los Angeles to Orange County. The new venue is Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado just outside Irvine. The festival is organized by Go Ventures which organizes not only Love Festival but also Monster Massive during Halloween and Together As One for New Years Eve. Venue - Oak Canyon RanchOak Canyon Ranch is a park in the hills of Orange County. The park is located next to a lake and is surrounded by hills. The venue is also host to several other festivals such as Lightning in a Bottle, 420 Festival, Juju Beats, and Pacific OC Festival. The location is something different and a favorite of the FestivalZOO staff. ArtistsThe lineup includes some exciting house artists as well as some from the electro and trance genres. For the house fans we recommend checking out Alex Kenji, Funkagenda, and Nic Fanciulli. Marcus Schossow is one of the latest DJ stars coming from Sweden. Matt Darey and Paul Oakenfold are two pioneers in electronic music and it will be interesting to see if they still have the magic.
Travel InformationClosest airport is John Wayne Airport (SNA) which is about 15 miles away. Other major airports are Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Long Beach Airport (LGB). Although Oak Canyon Ranch is fairly isolated in the Orange County hills, getting there is really easy. Here are directions: Toll Road Option: From 91 Fwy, take 241 Fwy (Toll Road) South. Exit Santiago Canyon Road and go left. You will pass Irvine Lake of the left (DO NOT turn into Irvine Lake). Make first left after Irvine Lake at park entrance. Follow signs. From South: Exit 5 Fwy North at El Toro Road and go right. El Toro Road turns into Santiago Canyon Road. Follow road 15.75 miles to park entrance on the right. If you reach Irvine Lake, you’ve gone too far. Make right turn at park entrance. Follow signs. Toll Road Option: From 5 or 405 Fwy, take 133 Fwy north. 133 turns into 241 Fwy (Toll Road). Take 241 Fwy North, exit Santiago Canyon Road and go right (You will pass Irvine Lake on the left, DO NOT turn into Irvine Lake). Go Approx. 1/8 mi. Turn left at park entrance. Follow Signs. No shuttle service announced as of yet. HotelsThere are not many hotels close to Oak Canyon Ranch. The closest hotels are about 10 miles away. It is still a lot closer than making a drive up to Los Angeles. We recommend booking a hotel room and taking a cab. This way you can enjoy an extra drink or ten and have an after party in your room.
